Offshore HVDC Wind Energy Platform

Appointment
Matthew was appointed to act as an independent expert. The case was a time-related claim by the claimant under a bespoke FIDIC Red Book Contract in an international Arbitration.

Background
Due to late changes in the respondent’s design, the offshore platform did not meet its contractual ‘Sail-away’ date from the platform fabrication yard. The design changes arose due to changes in DNV design guidelines for offshore structures. The claim was based due to a change in scope and late design.

Evaluation
Matthew Edwards’s role was to assess contemporaneous project records and establish an extensive and detailed windows analysis to assess the claimant’s programme delay analysis for the delay and associated prolongation costs under the form of contract.
